A Safe Place for Hurting People

Church should be one place where feel safe to hurt and be broken, yet we feel as though we must put on a happy face. After all, if we have Jesus we should be happy all the time, right? Many feel as though having it all together is a mark of spirituality. The only problem is we all experience pain, loss, temptation, disappointment and failure. We all fall down. Church is where you can get up again. This weeks sermon and the new series is called A Safe Place for Hurting People.

How many times have you talked to someone at church on Sunday and they were all smiles, only to find out later that their life was coming apart at the seams or they were hurting deeply. You said to yourself, “If I’d only known, I would have helped.” Too many times we don’t find out about the deep pain until its too late to help.
