The Biggest Verse in the Bible

The shortest verse in the Bible is John 11:35. It’s just two short, simple words- “Jesus wept.” Jesus’ tears come in the aftermath of the death of his friend, Lazarus. He has witnessed grief of Lazarus’ sister Martha, and then the heart-rending mourning of the other sister, Mary. This is when Jesus is moved to tears. What’s incredible about his weeping though is that Jesus knows that in a matter moments he will raise Lazarus from the grave. Knowing that celebration is just around the corner, why is Jesus crying now?
